Free X (Twitter) video downloader

XtractVideo is a free X video downloader for public posts. Paste an x.com or twitter.com status URL, resolve the native MP4 sources, and download the best quality the post still serves. No signup, no X login, and no browser extension.

How it works

Copy the post link from X, paste it above, and click Get Video. When the source publishes more than one rendition, pick the quality it still offers. The label may be a resolution, a bitrate, or MP4. Links refresh automatically when they expire.

Which links work

Public posts with native video, including /username/status/ID on x.com and twitter.com. Private, deleted, age-gated, or login-only posts fail. Embedded or third-party clips are not supported. More detail is on the X FAQ.

Copy the link from X or Twitter

Open the post containing the video and use Share, then Copy link. Paste the post address here, rather than a profile or search page. A supported address includes /status/ followed by the post ID.

If the post does not resolve

Check that the post is still public and contains a video uploaded to X. A link to an external video site inside a post cannot be downloaded with this tool. If a public native video fails, try again later or consult the X and Twitter download FAQ.

  • Paste a public X or Twitter post URL
  • Choose HD when the source provides it
  • Download the MP4

Also available: Instagram Reels, Facebook videos, and TikTok videos.

Save the video on your phone or computer

iPhone or iPad

Open this tool in Safari, paste the public video link, and choose Get Video. Select an available quality and choose Download Now. Check Safari's downloads list or the Downloads folder in Files. If the browser opens the video, use its share menu to save it; available options depend on your iOS version.

Android

Open the tool in your browser, paste the link, and choose Get Video, then Download Now. Look in your browser's downloads list or your device's Downloads folder. If an in-app browser cannot save the file, open this page in your regular browser and try again.

Windows or Mac

Paste the public link, choose Get Video, select a quality when offered, and choose Download Now. Your browser saves the file to its download folder or asks where to put it, depending on your settings.

Quality and download limits

The available qualities come from the source; the tool does not upscale the video or guarantee HD. Files must be within the 200 MB limit. Download links expire, so return to the tool and request the video again if an old link stops working. Save only content you own or have permission to download.
